Are you a graduate who is considering qualifying as a teacher?
Have you been applying for PGCE, SCITT, Teach First, and had no luck in securing your placement?
Then we can offer you relevant, appropriate work to supplement your application for teacher training in September 2019.
We are a recruitment partner to dozens of schools across Greater Manchester; we are owned by ex-School Senior Leaders who value quality over quantity; they pride themselves on identifying high quality candidates who can improve the outcomes of the students they work with.
We would like you to apply to be one of our Learning Mentor team. The role of a Learning Mentor is varied, challenging and interesting. It is perfect for graduates who are considering (or have already secured) a PGCE course, or another route to obtain UK Qualified Teacher Status. It is also a great way for other professionals (sports coaches, drama coaches, singing tutors, etc) to earn extra money outside of their core hours.
We are currently working in partnership with a specialist provision in South Manchester, who are looking to add a capable, confident Learning Mentor to their team. This assignment will run for the full academic year. The main responsibility of your role will be to provide a positive influence to disengaged Key Stage 4 students who display challenging behaviours, and are highly disengaged with learning.
Whilst the work is not easy – you will gain so much experience, know-how and most importantly, practice which can supplement your other work, or teaching studies.
To be considered for this role, you must:
We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, younger learners and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff and volunteers to share the same commitment. All positions will be subject to enhanced DBS checks, satisfactory references and will be exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974
