We have been approached by one of our partner schools in Bolton, as they are looking to secure the services of a qualified Science Teacher, on a full time basis.
This post is temporary, to start January 2019, for two terms.
Our school benefits from a stunning, traditional building and boasts excellent facilities throughout the science faculty as well as leading IT equipment across the school. There are several resource centres available across the school too; surrounded by some of the most advanced sports facilities in the North West; our school is a welcoming, faith environment where all students are encouraged to succeed.
To travel to this school; road links are excellent (M60, M61, M62, A666); there are several key bus routes in the local area and two train stations within a five/ten minute walk.
The SLT in this school are focused and unrelenting in their quest to become the highest achieving school in the borough. If you are successfully appointed, you will benefit from extensive mentoring and support from a supportive SLT and Head of Science. Science has traditionally been a stable department and this position is for a fixed term of two terms, finishing in July 2019.
This role is suitable for either an experienced, “Outstanding” Teacher of Science who is looking for a new challenge in a school which has made excellent progress under the new SLT – or, an “Outstanding” NQT looking to secure their first post after qualifying.
To be considered for this role, you must:
– Be OUTSTANDING!
– Hold UK QTS in Secondary Science achieved via PGCE in Secondary Science, B.Ed, SCITT, BA w/QTS, or other recognised route to Qualified Teacher Status
– Have expert knowledge of recent curriculum developments.
– Be happy to commit to a long-term role.
We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, younger learners and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff and volunteers to share the same commitment. All positions will be subject to enhanced DBS checks, satisfactory references and will be exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974
