Castles Education are recruiting for a larger than average mainstream Primary School in Middleton who are seeking a Special Needs Teaching Assistant.
The successful applicant will join the school on a full time basis working with a Year 2 child with Autism (ASC). This role will continue for as long as the child remains at the setting and there is funding in place to support the pupils’ needs.
* The successful candidate will have a kind and patient nature and must have previous experience working with autism (ASC).
* Qualifications or experience with Makaton / BSL would be preferred.
* Ideally candidates should be able to demonstrate awareness of de-escalation and diversion techniques. A current or expired Team-Teach qualification (or similar) is preferred.
* Candidates with backgrounds in psychology or with experience supporting occupational therapy will be preferred.
This position is full time (08:15 – 15:45) and commences as soon as possible.
Pay ranges from £55 – £62.50 per day depending on experience.
