Agency: Castles Education
Castles Education are recruiting a Speech and Language teacher for a resource base attached to a mainstream primary school in Lewisham.
If you have experience in teaching Reception and KS1 children in a primary setting then this could be your next teaching post. It is not necessary that you have experience in teaching children with Speech and Language needs, although this would be an advantage, as the school have an excellent track record of supporting and training mainstream teachers to assist them in the transition into SEND teaching.
The resource base currently has 16 children on roll with this particular class having 7 children who are supported by an experienced teaching assistant. The current teacher is due to leave in May so there is a good opportunity to carry out a full handover prior to the start of the new teacher taking over the class.
There is also a great opportunity to become a permanent teacher within this school for September either within the resource base or as a KS1 mainstream teacher.
The school is part of an academy trust with a high level of EAL and SEND due to the demographics in the local area. However, the school has achieved an “outstanding” Ofsted with staff and children enjoying their time at school. The school is well resourced with additional staff in key roles who enhance the curriculum and learning experience.
Pay rates for this role does depend on main pay scale and experience. The permanent post would also add SEND points and possible TRL points to main pay scale.
You should have QTS, although outstanding NQTs will be considered. A DBS registered on the update service will be an advantage and you must be able to provide references for the past three years.
If you are interested in this great opportunity then you need to be applying for this role today as the closing date is the 19th January with interviews on the 23rd January.
We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, younger learners and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff and volunteers to share the same commitment. All positions will be subject to enhanced DBS checks, satisfactory references and will be exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974
