Our client is a Pupil Referral Unit in the Stockport area for learners aged between 11 and 16.
They have a demand for subject specialist Teachers for short term, ad-hoc day-to-day supply cover, as well as staff for longer term assignments and potentially permanent roles.
Many pupils have been permanently excluded from school, or at risk of being permanently excluded. The majority of the pupils will not have attended school for some time, or have attended part time or have worked outside of the classroom environment.
The main focus of the school is give learners access to a safe and caring learning environment, and to encourage them to re-engage in learning.
Experience of teaching pupils in a similar setting would be an advantage, but if you feel you have the relevant skills, and have a strong desire to work with pupils of this nature then we would be happy to hear from you.
We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, younger learners and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff and volunteers to share the same commitment. All positions will be subject to enhanced DBS checks, satisfactory references and will be exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974
