Graduate Teacher Job Training

Helping you get into teaching

Our graduate teacher training programme allows you to grow as a professional whilst gaining the skills you require to meet the recognised teacher standards and reach qualified teacher status (QTS).

The course is completely free and you even earn a small salary while you train.

Join our 2 year salaried training programme and become a qualified teacher.

Our core team is made up entirely of senior school leaders with over 50 years of teaching experience.  You will benefit from our knowledge and experience as we guide you in all aspects of preparing to become a teacher.  From applications to interview and from demo lessons to a full teaching schedule, we’ll support you to get into teaching.

The school based, assessment only, route into teaching program is completely flexible and can be designed to meet your requirements:

  • Specify the subjects you would prefer to teach.
  • Specify the location you want to live.
  • Specify your preference for primary or secondary.

The benefits of a school based teacher training course

  • The program is flexible and designed to meet your needs.
  • You earn a salary while you train.
  • Enhance your CV by gaining a range of transferable skills.
  • Develop yourself professionally.
  • Puts you on a clear career path in a high demand field.
  • Gain qualified teacher status which is recognised globally.

Why get into teaching?

Teaching is not just something you do to pay the bills. It takes passion and commitment.

But for the brave souls who walk this path, genuine fulfilment lies at the end of the journey.

We all remember that one special teacher.

Could that be you?

Teachers make a difference to hundreds of young people every day.

It takes a big heart to help shape little minds.

Are you up for the challenge?

We find you a paid job in a school where you will slowly build up your confidence and gain

first-hand experience of what it’s like to be a teacher.

As you start to pick up some skills and learn how to work with children we will guide you towards obtaining fully qualified teacher status step by step.

Initially you will be doing 1-1 tuition and other teaching assistant tasks.

But eventually you’ll take classes of your own.

Along the way you’ll build up a portfolio of work that will be submitted for assessment
and with our full support hopefully obtain QTS.

We offer a full CPD programme for our graduates. Working in partnership with placement schools we design and implement a bespoke professional programme to meet your needs. Castles will also support you through the application process ensuring that you are fully prepared when attending interview and applying for positions.

Earn while you train

You will earn a minimum £200-£300 a week as soon as you start work. Your salary will increase as soon as you complete the training.  Compare this to some routes into teaching which cost the trainee substantial sums, often running into the thousands.

Take your time

We won’t push you in at the deep end. Build your confidence slowly and progress at your own pace.

Achieve

Learning how to become a teacher is an amazing journey. It might just be your greatest ever achievement

How we support you

We support you every step of the way.  From school placement to preparing your final assessment, we’ll be with you every step of the way.

You’ll receive pre-placement training here at Castles HQ to ensure your first weeks go smoothly and a Castles teacher trainer will visit you regularly at school throughout the year.

Your mentor teacher and a Castles teacher trainer will make sure your portfolio reaches the standard expected to pass inspection by the QTS awarding bodies.

Within 2 days of contacting Castles, I had an interview with a school in Istanbul and the next day I got a job offer! I'll be working at a private primary school in a nice part of the city, and I can't wait to get started. Thank you so much!
